By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

- Apply Illinois Professional Conduct Standards to common clinical and business dilemmas (boundaries, discrimination, consent, fees, documentation integrity).
- Differentiate OT vs OTA responsibilities and apply Illinois supervision + supervision documentation requirements in daily practice.
- Identify and reduce risk for unprofessional conduct (fraud/misrepresentation, incompetence, services not rendered, impaired practice).
- Handle confidentiality, records, and disclosure challenges (including Illinois “special record protections” situations such as mental health records).
- Use a repeatable ethical decision-making process and document the rationale in a way that supports quality care, compliance, and defensible practice
