Course Outline
Implicit bias in healthcare refers to the unconscious attitudes and beliefs that medical practitioners hold about their patients, which can affect their decisions and behavior in a healthcare setting. These biases may be based on a number of factors such as race, gender, age, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status. It is important to recognize and address implicit bias in healthcare because it can lead to unequal treatment of patients, which can have serious health consequences. This course fulfills the IDFPR implicit bias awareness training requirement to maintain PT/OT licensure in the state of Illinois. Section 4 IL Practice Act
